A Message from Todd

Many of you know I have been working on this project for a long time, and today I am happy to announce that I am in the process of starting a nonprofit called We Rise! Our goal is to build a mentorship and neighborhood revitalization program in Baltimore City. Our primary focus is to help Baltimore youth and families build generational wealth through financial literacy and homeownership. As we begin to start this journey, I want to highlight some of our most recent accomplishments:

  • New Website: Our official website has launched! On our website, you’ll find information about what we do, who we are, and why our work matters. Launching an official website puts us one step forward in building the momentum necessary for our movement. If you or someone you know is interested in getting involved, that information is also available on our website.

  • Department of Juvenile Services: We Rise has collaborated with the Department of Juvenile Services to mentor individuals in the Evening Reporting Center Program. For participants, this weekly program is an alternative to serving time in a detention center and provides skill-building and service-learning opportunities to juvenile offenders. Our group was extremely engaged and eager to learn more. We are looking forward to meeting with them again.

  • Crowdsourcing: We Rise is currently in the midst of attaining a 501(c)3 nonprofit status but our work has not stopped. If you would like to support our movement, we have created a GoFundMe account. Donations will go directly towards supplies for the mentees, project costs for the rebuilds, and general operating expenses.

As you can see, we have so much going on presently, and so much more to come. We would love it if you could become part of our journey - by donating to our cause, or by following us on our social media pages, or even by telling a friend about our work. We need more people to believe in Baltimore youth and let them know that they have the power and the potential to change their lives.

I am excited to build a better Baltimore with you all.
